Caitlin McDonough graduated from Harvard University in 2006 with a degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy. She has been a Hut Naturalist for the Appalachian Mountain Club, has worked for the Sierra Club analyzing Illinois environmental policy, and has studied canopy arthropod biodiversity with The Nature Conservancy.  She loves ascending into the canopies of giant Sitka Spruces, Western Hemlocks and Western Red Cedars to collect insects and epiphytic lichens.
