Charles C. Chester is the author of Conservation Across Borders: Biodiversity in an Interdependent World (Island Press 2006). He teaches the course International Biodiversity Conservation at The Fletcher School of Tufts University, and the course International Environmental Law and Policy at Brandeis University. He has worked as a Program Consultant for the Henry P. Kendall Foundation on a range of domestic and international conservation issues, as a consultant to the Union of Concerned Scientists on global biodiversity issues, and for the World Foundation for Environment and Development on bioprospecting. He currently serves on the boards of the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative, EcoLogic Finance, and the New England Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology, and is a previous board member of Bat Conservation International. Before graduate school he worked on toxic waste site remediation and indoor air quality issues, and he received his Ph.D. from The Fletcher School in 2003.
