'''David M. Hassenzahl''' is Associate Professor and Chair of the '''Department of Environmental Studies''' at the '''University of Nevada, Las Vegas'''. His research and teaching focus on the roles of uncertainty and expertise in risk decisions. He is primarily interested in environmental issues, but has been known to poke into engineering, technology, vulnerability and homeland security. Current activities include chairing the Education Committee for the Society for Risk Analysis ('''SRA'''), maintaining the '''Risk Analysis Teaching and Learning Website''', and organizing a UNLV-wide sustainability consortium. He is President-elect of the Risk Assessment and Policy Association, and in 2007 will host the '''International Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS 2007)'''.
