Lene Sigsgaard, PhD, MSc

EDUCATION

  • 1992 - 1996: Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Ph.D. work in entomology. Minor subject in agroecology.
  • 1982 - 1989: Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. M.Sc. in agricultural sciences.

EARLIER POSITIONS

RESEARCH AREA
Tri-trophic interactions between plants, herbivorous insects and their natural enemies in cultivated systems. Research focus on the biology of natural enemies of insect pests, natural regulation of insect pests, functional biodiversity and biological control. Experimental work has involved laboratory work (immunoassays, various bioassays), greenhouse, semi-field- and field studies as well as surveys.

TEACHING AND SUPERVISION
Teaching courses in biological control, agricultural and horticultural entomology, horticultural crop production, plant protection and Ecology. In addition, various invited lectures, workshop facilitator, and teaching of individual students (BSc, MSc) college students, farmers and advisors.
