Maggie Walser, originally from Eureka, CA, completed her Ph.D. in Atmospheric Chemistry with the Aerosol Photochemistry Group at the University of California, Irvine. As a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, her research focused on the composition and photochemistry of secondary organic aerosol, as well as biogenic emissions of atmospherically relevant trace gases.
While at Irvine, Maggie received the Chemistry Department's prestigious Edward K.C. Lee Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies and Research and Outstanding Contributions to the Graduate Program. She obtained B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in 2002, also from the University of California, Irvine. Upon completion of her Ph.D., she spent a year as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the National Council for Science and the Environment in Washington, DC. As the current AGU/AAAS Congressional Science and Engineering Fellow, Maggie works with the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
