Topic Editor in Environmental Economics
Dr. Niggol Seo is a resource economist who specializes in global warming. He is concerned about managing greenhouse gases globally over time. He has worked on building behavioral models to explain adaptative responses to climate change. He developed a micro-econometric method to measure the impacts of climate change and endogenous adaptations explicitly in agriculture simultaneously. The method was applied to study African agriculture and Latin American agriculture. He published a series of papers on African livestock management under global warming. He is currently involved in measuring climate change impacts and adaptation behaviors using Asian, African, and Latin American agricultural data in collaboration with Yale University, World Bank, CEEPA in Africa, PROCISUR in Latin America, and many country scientists in Africa and Latin America.
He received a Ph.D. degree from Yale University in May 2006 majoring in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics with a focus on global climate policy. He is currently working as Research Professor at the BC3 (Basque Center for Climate Change) in Bilbao, Spain and has been working with the World Bank on a series of climate change projects since 2003.
