Ralph Stuart has been working in the Environmental Safety office at the University of Vermont since 1985, focusing primarily on laboratory health, safety and regulatory compliance and Indoor Air Quality management. In addition, he teaches courses in Hazardous Materials Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

Since 1999, he has been UVM's lead for participating in the Lab XL "regulatory reinvention" project with the EPA, sponsored by the Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence.

Ralph is the list owner of the SAFETY; e-mail list, the oldest environmental health and safety e-mail list still functioning, and is active in the American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health and Safety and Task Force on Laboratory Environmental Health and Safety.

Ralph has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a master's degree in Environmental Engineering form UVM. Ralph is a Certified Industrial Hygienist.
