Biography:
Amanda Velde, from Lubbock, TX, studied Biology at Texas Tech University. Amanda participated in the Encyclopedia of Earth Student Science Communication Project while taking a course entitled “Advanced Fieldcraft” that focused on the Rio Grande River. She spent a week on a canoe trip through Boquillas Canyon in Big Bend National Park as part of this class.
