Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is the John and Naida Ramil Professor of Chemical Engineering, and Co-Director of the Clean Energy Research Center, at the University of South Florida. Dr. Goswami is internationally known for his research in fundamental and applied areas of renewable energy. He has published as an author or editor 6 books, 8 book chapters, 4 conference proceedings and more than 100 refereed technical papers. He also holds 5 U.S. patents and 1 world-wide patent.

Dr. Goswami is a co-author with Frank Kreith and Jan Kreider of Principles of Solar Engineering (2nd edition), a comprehensive textbook on solar energy fundamentals and applications. He is the editor-in-chief of the Solar Energy Journal published by the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), as well as Advances in Solar Energy: An Annual Review of Research and Development, published by the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). Goswami is co-Editor-in-Chief with Frank Krieth of the CRC Handbook of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy and CRC Handbook of Mechanical Engineering, as well as being on its editorial advisory board. He is a past Associate Editor of the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's (ASME) Journal of Solar Engineering. Dr. Goswami has chaired a number of task forces to advise the U.S. Congress and the federal administration on energy policy.

Dr. Goswami is a Fellow of ASME International, and the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). He is a recipient of the John Yellott Award for Solar Energy from ASME and the Charles Greely Abbott award from ASES, and more than 20 other awards from engineering and scientific societies. Dr. Goswami is a registered professional engineer.

Dr. Goswami is a recognized leader in professional scientific and technical societies. At present, he is the President of ISES (2004-2006), and a governor of ASME-International (2003-2006). He has also served as a Senior Vice-President of ASME-International (2000-2003), president of IASEE (2000-2002), and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES, 1996-2000).
