Biography:

Gabe Ignatow received his Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology at Stanford University in 2003, and has taught as an instructor at Stanford, an assistant professor at Koç University in Istanbul, and a lecturer at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. His research interests are in the areas of globalization, environmental sociology, and cultural theory. His forthcoming book, Transnational Identity Politics and the Environment (Rowman & Littlefield 2007), explores the effects of forces of cultural, economic, and political globalization on environmental social movements, with chapters devoted to contemporary environmental politics in Turkey and Lithuania. He has published on globalization and environmental politics in the journals Globalizations; Global Environmental Politics; Environmental Politics; and Environment & Behavior.
