Dr. Jorge Brenner has a background in coastal and marine ecology, geographic information systems, ecological economics, and ocean management. He has research experience in the Gulf of California, Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean. He obtained his Ph.D. in Barcelona, Spain, and his dissertation estimated the value of the ecosystem services provided by the Catalan coast in the Mediterranean. He was recently hired as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies in Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He is currently working with the Ecosystem Studies and Modeling Laboratory where he is conducting research in conservation of ecosystem services, eco-informatics, and management of the Gulf of Mexico.
