Joseph V. Siry teaches undergraduates in Environmental Studies and graduate students in Liberal Studies at Rollins College, in Winter Park, Florida. He is author of Marshes of the Ocean Shore: Origins of an Environmental Ethic, published by Texas A & M University Press. He was a contributing editor to "Feeling the Heat in Florida," a Natural Resources Defense Council publication on the impacts of climate change on Florida's economy and ecology. He studied history and biology at the University of California at Santa Barbara with Roderick F. Nash and the late Garrett Hardin after an undergraduate degree from Emory University. His academic interests include: wildlife and fisheries protection, coastal conservation, climate change, environmental history and the history of science and technology. He contributes book reviews to the Journal of Environmental Education.
