Morgan Marino was born in Beaumont, Texas and currently attends Texas Tech University, where she is a member of the Honors College. She is studying Nutritional Science with a minor in Chemistry. Morgan spent the Spring semester of 2007 studying abroad in Florence, Italy. There she attended Apicius, The Culinary Institute of Florence. Among other things, Morgan enjoys cooking and the outdoors. Eventually, Morgan plans to pursue a career in healthcare. Morgan participated in the Encyclopedia of Earth Student Science Communication Project while taking a course entitled “Advanced Fieldcraft” that focused on the Rio Grande River. She spent a week on a canoe trip through Boquillas Canyon in Big Bend National Park as part of this class.
