Twentieth century science and technology made tremendous advances, however many of the chemicals intended to advance our quality of life have migrated into the environment were they pose a risk to both human and ecosystem health. Dr. Larsen's professional interests involve studying the movement, fate and impact of toxins in our environment.
Dr. Larsen holds a B.E. in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University, a M.S. in civil (environmental) engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in Marine, Estuarine and Environmental Studies from the University of Maryland. He is currently an assistant professor of chemistry at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
