Biography:

Taichu Y. Tanaka is currently a scientist at the Meteorological Research Institute of the Japan Meteorological Agency. His research interests include atmospheric physics and chemistry, especially in global atmospheric transport of trace substances including aerosols. His current research focuses on the numerical modeling study of aerosol and aerosol-climate interactions. He is developing a global aerosol transport model named the Model of Aerosol Species IN the Global Atmosphere (MASINGAR), which is used for investigating atmospheric transport of aerosols and interactions between aerosols and climate, and also used as the operational dust forecasting model at the Japan Meteorological Agency. He received M.S. in meteorology from Nagoya University, Japan, and a Ph.D in meteorology from Nagoya University, Japan.
