Tomás B. Ramos is Assistant Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (New University of Lisbon), Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (Faculty of Sciences and Technology), Departamento de Ciências e Engenharia do Ambiente (Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering). His research activity is carried out within environmental/sustainability assessment and management (impact assessment, performance evaluation and management, indicators, strategic planning; country and corporate reporting). He has been mainly involved in the teaching of environmental impact assessment, environmental planning, land use management and strategic environmental assessment, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has been an environmental consultant to numerous private and public organizations on the fields of environmental management and assessment, sustainable development indicators and green accounting. Dr. Ramos holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from New University of Lisbon, a M.Sc. in Coastal Sciences from University of Aveiro and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (Environmental Performance Evaluation) from New University of Lisbon. Since 2003 acted as member of the National Board of the Order of Engineers of Portugal (Accreditation Council). Between 1997 and 1999 was the President of the Portuguese Environmental Engineering Association. Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cleaner Production, Elsevier.
