Biography:

Dr. Vineet Soni, School of Life Sciences, Jaipur National University, India,works on Molecular Plant Stress Physiology and Photosynthesis. He received his MSc degree in Plant Biology from the University of Rajasthan, India and completed his PhD in 2005 fromBirla Institute of Scientific Research in Plant Biotechnology and Physiology. During his doctorate studies, Dr. Soni received a Visiting Fellowship from the University of Geneva, Switzerland to work on Plant Bioenergetics. In 2005, he was awarded a travel grant from BioRad, UK to visit Germany for academic and research purposes. In 2006, he was honored with the prestigious Nature Publishing Group award for presentation of his research on plant metabolites at Tilton School, USA. He recently completed Post Doctorate Research work at Geneva University, Switzerland.

Dr. Soni has visited at many famous esteemed universities around the world, i.e. University of Heidelberg, Germany, University of Vienna, Austria, European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Germany, Laussane University, Bern University, and Geneva University, Switzerland. Now in India, his research is focoused on various aspects of Plant Photosynthesis and Plant Biotechnology. He is the member of IUCN-SSC (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources-Species Survival Commission) and is deeply involved in conservation of threatened plants of the Rajasthan state of India through community involvement and biotechnological approaches. He is the president of the Indian Council for Plant Conservation. Presentlyat Jaipur National University, he is involved in plant biotechnology research with a group of master/doctorate students.
