Biography:

Sarah Chappel is the Program Coordinator for the Center for Science Solutions of the National Council for Science and the Environment, she also works on the Earth Portal and Encyclopedia of the Earth. She recently graduated from James Madison University with a B.S., magna cum laude, in Geographic Science with a concentration on Environmental Studies. In college, Sarah studied abroad in London and Costa Rica, as well as volunteering as a teacher in rural Ethiopia. Sarah is fueling her passion for the environment by working with different projects within the NCSE. Sarah has worked on various research projects including a gap analysis of cranes in Sub-Saharan Africa, forest surveys, and Monarch butterfly migration monitoring projects. Her interests include sustainability, biodiversity, traveling, and outdoor activities.
