Planning should be comphrehensive and take into consideration long term consequences, along with responsible development choices in order to help societies and communities be more resilient to the impacts of the future climate.
Conservation, efficiency and sustainability should be embed in the development industry at all levels possible to lessen the impact of climate change on water, and energy resources.Soil use should also be considered.
Planning and development take place at local, state, national and international levels. Irresponsible local planning and development could lead to an international impact.
