Citizen "scientists" track birds in oil zone (3:31)

Millions of birds winter on the Gulf of Mexico coast, and volunteers, dubbed citizen scientists, are counting the birds to help scientists determine the oil spill's effects on resident populations, as well as the migratory populations. Partially funded by NSF; field producing and videography by Fritz Faerber.
