Chemical Safety Information, Site Security and Fuels Regulatory Relief Act, United States

Introduction

The Chemical Safety Information, Site Security and Fuels Regulatory Relief Act addressing reporting and dissemination of information under the Clean Air Act for flammable fuels and "Off-Site Consequence Analysis (OCA) data. OCAs are also know as worst-case-scenarios.

Flammable fuels located at such retail facilities as gasoline stations are not included under this law.

OCA data is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act for at least one year. Among the reasons for this exemption is the belief that such data could be used by terrorists to target specific facilities within the U.S. Such data is made available to Federal, State and local government safety, and emergency services and planning personnel.
